Hey Scotty,
Every now and then I check my coolant level in the reservoir tank. It keeps going down. I’ve pressure tested it and it held at 20psi for so long. I use that exhaust leak test test (blue liquid kit) and it stayed blue. I don’t see any noticeable leaks. What else can I do or is this normal to expel excess coolant? I’m going to try the blue liquid one more time but let the car run for an hour or so and see. I want to make sure the head gasket is good or bad because my extended warranty is almost up.
Thanks
Pressure test the radiator cap or just replace it. They're cheap. Top off the radiator first, then the reservoir. Make sure the cap is fully seated on the neck of the radiator. The cap has a spring that acts like a relief valve and it opens when the engine overheats to release pressure. That's what the big, white cloud that comes out from under the hood is, when you see an engine overheat. The spring weakens over time.
With coolant, it's either leaking it or burning it. We really need all the basic information asked for in the first paragraph of this page to be accurate and help.
