I bought my 1996 Lincoln Town car a few months ago and did some repairs, the last thing I can't seem to figure out is why my oil pressure light and check engine light come on when I test drove it, as soon as I got to a stop sign the vehicle went into limp mode and the gas pedal refused to work, I had to restart the car but it would not start right away, what could it be?

Scan it for codes and live data. If the oil pressure light is coming on, confirm actual oil pressure using a mechanical gauge.
So the thing is I had the battery disconnected for a while so it won't throw any codes.
