[Solved] LPG Question on Valve Lash Adjustments for Toyota Landcruiser

Hi Folks,

I'm thinking of getting an older 2UZ-FE 4.7L V8 Landcruiser and converting it to LPG. I came across this review here: https://www.carsguide.com.au/car-reviews/used-car-review-toyota-landcruiser-100-series-1998-2002-13182 and the guy says it needs periodic valve lash adjustments when running LPG. And the cost of that will negate any savings you make on the LPG.

Is he talking about the same manual valve adjustments the engine needs anyway? And saying they need to be made more?. If it is the same could I DIY it (destroy it myself).

Thanks

Well the thing is to adjust the valves on those those are shims and they have to be reshmed with different size shims which is a gigantic pain in the ass. It does cost a small fortune now here in the United States hardly anybody uses LPG for running car so I personally have no experience and I would have to bow to someone who has experience working on them. Here we only use gasoline to run them

Thanks Scotty. I hope you guys don't suffer from inflation gas prices for much longer and people don't have to go down that route.
