Dakota power steering leaks

Aloha I have a 01 dodge Dakota with 198k miles, manual trans.

Anyways I just noticed a small rack and pinion leak. It's kinda small.

Online it says atf for the fluid, but idk what's in there if it's atf or regular ps fluid

Is Lucas power steering stop leak a good way to go? Like if it is atf would it hurt the rack mixing atf and Lucas stop leak?

Also should I use 10w 30 instead of 5w 30 since it's high mileage, and should I use a little Lucas oil lubricant would that help engine last longer?

Appreciate y'all help.

Mahalo

It took about 30 seconds to find a shop manual for that vehicle:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/e9s0b99qwa3f3r6/2001_Dodge_Dakota_Factory_Service_Manual.pdf

It took about another 10 seconds to find that the information therein has been superseded:

Those "stop leak" products that you mentioned are just as "good" as each other - both are snake oil.

@chucktobias how odd I looked all over that manual don't see any mention of power steering fluid

@scottydaman202 It's in there, I saw it on page 19-20. Very quickly found by simply doing a search for "power steering fluid" in the pdf file. However as I said that information has been superseded.

Regular oil is perfectly fine. Those additives really don't do much. As for the Lucas stop leak, I have never seen that do much of anything. The only thing I ever try is at205 reseal

Aloha, I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota Sport RWD with the V6 motor. Manual trans.199k miles

So I have a power steering leak, seems pretty small. Don't have the manual for the car. And dodge is closed.

Not sure what kind of fluid to put into reservoir. Not sure if they used trans fluid or regular power steering fluid. If I put some regular power steering fluid and they used trans fluid would it mess things up? Or if I just put in a bottle of Lucas ps stop leak, and topped off with that, would it mess things up?

Let me know, thank you.

And is Lucas trans stop leak just as good as ps stop leak. I got a bit of that left.

Look it up in the owner's manual or shop manual.
