Scotty when driving a manual do engines still “Lug?” I would think not since they are fuel injected and not carburetors.

Lugging an engine has nothing to do whether or not a vehicle has a carb or fuel injected. Either way it's user error in the application of clutch and throttle.

Are you talking about Camming? Yes, even fuel injected engines with performance cams will have some lope at idle. This is because the cam controls the valves which sit after the injectors.
If your talking about that point when the engine starts to stall, or you are in to high a gear for the speed you are moving , yes fuel injection behaves just like carburetors.
Thanks 👍🏾
