Manual transmission fluid leak

Hi again, I have a 1996 Toyota Camry manual transmission with 263,000 miles. I am going to try to put stop leak in it first, but if I have to do an overhaul on the transmission and replace a bunch of seals I would love to have some advice on it. I've never worked on a transmission, I'm also not sure where in the transmission it's leaking. I'm thinking the main seal. I've looked for a video on this and there are not many. I hate to go in blind. Thx Scotty

My advice would be to get a can of  brake Kleen and try to find the source of the leak first.  When you narrow that down and you can get a estimate of where the source leak is then you can tear it down.   That way you can also examine in detail WHY it is leaking so you don't repeat it possibly.  Some metal areas may be worn so putting new seals work...but not for long....so look for those situations.  Alright...good luck on your adventure....
