Scotty, I'm looking at a 2014 Toyota Yaris L Hatchback Automatic with 68k miles, from a dealershiP. What are your thoughts on this vs a Corolla? Thanks.

In U.S. Yaris is the Mazda's product. Corolla is better built and more spacious.
Whatever you will decide for, roadtest it. If you like it, have it checked by a mechanic before you buy it.
Good luck.
By the way, the 2013-2017 generation of the Toyota Yaris is a Toyota design with toyota engine and transmission while the Scion IA and Toyota Yaris from 2018 on is a rebadged Mazda. The 2014 2015 2016 years are very reliable.
And also keep in mind that the Yaris is discounted in the US. It favors you to offer less for the Yaris if you decide to go for it.
The cars are slightly different categories, the Yaris being a subcompact and the Corolla being a compact. Both fine Toyota choices.
When looking at the Yaris, the model year and country matters, because the most current generation of Yaris in the US is actually a rebadged Mazda.
This is the generation before and has a Toyota engine and transmission and is very reliable.
Corolla is a bit larger but depends on year. I would avoid 2014 year for example. Corollas are very reliable and so are the Toyota designed Yarises (the newer ones are Mazdas). I would pay a lot less for a Yaris though, no more than 6 7 grand.
A Corolla rides better than a Yaris but the Yaris might be better for you in the city or because of fuel economy etc. Road test them.
