Hello everyone, I live in India and was wondering which car should I buy. A brand spanking new Yaris or a slightly used Corolla altis.
I'm asking this question because the engine in Corolla is a 1.8ltr petrol or 1.4ltr diesel and in Yaris it is 1.5ltr petrol engine.
Which engine is the most reliable one. Thanks in advanced.
I would choose Corolla by far. Better built cars compared to Yaris and last way longer.
Is this specifically the mazda yarises or does this apply to the toyota designed 2016 2017 yaris as well? I found that they were rated as having very low complaints online. The one in India thrustwetryst says still is a toyota not rebadged mazda. I woyld like to here your detailed thoughts on this.
The Yaris sedan in India is still a Toyota with the tried & tested 1.5L 2NR-FE engine.
If you want a new car, buy the Yaris. If you want a good used car, get the (now discontinued) Corolla 1.8L petrol as that car can go on forever & ever.
Another option is the new Honda City.
The 1.4 diesel seems like a very good engine i heard in europe. Al of them are excellent choises if you say the toyota yaris is still a toyota there
Indeed.
Ok. The new Yaris has a Mazda 1.5 engine while the Corolla engines are legendary the 1.8 gasoline and 1.4 diesels are bulletproof. I would go Corolla. If it was an older 2016 2017 Yaris, I would go with the Yaris they were very reliable and Toyota designs the new ones 2018+ are just rebadged Mazdas.
Nevermind i guess the yaris is still a toyota there but still corolla is more family oriented nd yaris more commuter but corolla might last longer
I have an affinity for the Toyota made Yaris. And it is available in your country. They don’t sell the Toyota built ones here in the US. And I’ve been trying to find an economical way to get one here. It’s next to impossible.
Both the Corolla and Yaris are fine choices.
