MAZDA CX-3 Owner Looking For Something Bigger

Hi Scotty,

I currently own a 2019 Mazda CX-3 that I have paid off in full. With the exception of a problem with the brakes I had a year ago I have never had one bit of trouble with it. I do find it very small however and am in the market for something bigger that will last (no fuss) for years to come . What vechicle would you recommend ? I am considering the 2021 Mazda CX-5, the 2022 Toyota RAV4, the 2022 Honda CRV and the 2022 Kia Sorento, all of which I have test drove.

Thanks

Paul

Here's my ranking:

1. 2022 Toyota Rav4

2. 2021 Mazda CX-5

3. 2022 Honda CR-V

20. Kia Sorento (intentional)

I think you are better off with a 2022 Toyota RAV4. Mazda CX-5 has cylinder deactivation system, but it might last longer than a turbocharged Honda CR-V. As for the Kia Sorento, I would not recommend buying Kia Sorento because they are vulnerable to engine fires.

have you ever owned or driven any of these vehicles?

Definitely avoid the Kia. Between the cars on your list I would suggest the RAV4; whether the 2022 or even if they have the 2021 left on the lot and willing to sell at a lower price.

Rav4 all day long.

I have driven the Toyota and own a cx5 (2015). The cx5  drives much better, although you will have a tick more space in the the Toyota. Newer model Mazdas and Toyotas are neck and neck quality wise. I would definitely not buy a cx5 with the cylinder deactivation or turbo. I am not a fan of cvts and the 1.5 in the Honda  so I wouldn't buy that one.Don't even think of a Kia.

Definitely stay away from the Kia.  Of all those, go with the Toyota RAV4.

There is something about the Mazda fit and finish, and design which is to be commended. I’d say they are better than Toyota and Honda in that regard.

Test drive the Mazda, Toyota, and Honda and see what you like the best. Pass on the Kia.
