Hi Scotty,
I have a 2021 Mazda CX-5, 4 door All wheel drive. It has 13,600 miles. It’s a lease and I turn it in April 2024. The dealer is recommending an alignment and wheel balancing. I work from home and just drive it around town for errands, etc. Do you think I need to get the alignment and balance done? Thank you for any guidance you can offer.
What the dealer is really recommending is that you empty your wallet. Unless you hit a really big pothole or something like that you should not need an alignment at that mileage. (Are tires wearing funny? Is car pulling to one side or the other?) Ditto for wheel balance. (Are you feeling any vibration?)
99% of what the dealer says you need is an upsell of unnecessary services. That’s why they are called stealerships.
Do you think I need to get the alignment
I don't know.
is the tire tread wearing evenly?
Does the car pull to one side, or shimmy?
Have you had any steering or suspension work done?
You should rotate them every couple of oil changes or so.
and wheel balancing
Were the tires replaced? Do you feel any vibration while driving?
