Hey Scotty, welcome to Tennessee. Would love to meet up and chat with you about cars.
I have a 2003 Mazda Tribute LX V6 with around 150,000 miles on it. Whenever I drive up a hill, could be a small hill, it does not accelerate at all. It has a extremely rough idle and nearly dies every time it sits at a red light. Could it be the catalytic converter or the egr valve causing the issue??
Thank you for your time.

It could be a lot of things, but it sounds like you're not getting enough fuel. Have you checked the fuel filter to see if it is clogged? I'd start there.
