We have a 2004 Mazda RX8 , first problem the car had was after driving it enough where the car got a little warm, it would not start again unless we let the car cool down for 30 min then it would start again. Next the clutch went out so we sent it to the mechanic they replaced and reinstalled the clutch . Car was running normal for about a week all of a sudden now the car doesn't idle or run. Any advice on what the problem could be?.ps the clutch is stuck again.
For the start issue, you probably have leak injectors. Clean the injectors or replace them. I would fix the clutch issue and hopefully it solves the running issue.
I used to have 1st gen Rx7s, and a problem I had was the engine losing compression due to (I think) flooding. I don't know if that is what is going on with yours, but the way I got mine going again was by taking out the plugs, blowing out the fuel by holding the accelerator to the floor and turning it over a few seconds, and putting new plugs in adding a capful of transmission fluid into each barrel on the carb. Started up, smoked for about 15 minutes but it got it going again.
That being said, I don't know if this applies to your car, how you would accomplish those tasks with a fuel injection system, or even if you should try it at all. But it might be something to study on. I'm assuming the car turns over but never starts, so that might be compression.
