Scotty , I have tried to ask you this question on you tube ( not a puter dude) I have a 2012 Ford F150 that at the beginning of April it started to have a metallic rattle in the top end . Took it to the Ford Dealership and they said it needed timing chains and a tensioner . The truck has 128,000 Kms( Canadian) approx. 77,000 miles . The truck was delivered back to me and 4 days later it was back to the dealership because another top end tapping noise . After 3 weeks and the dealership talking with Ford Corp. They did an oil Flush 2 times and sent me the truck back saying all was good , 2 days later when it starts from cold there is a slight ticking . My question is Can this fix it with a flush ? and are there tappets in this engine . This truck since 2017 til Today has cost 6,000 dollars in repairs excluding things like oil changes , brakes and tires . Ford said I have to put 250 miles on it and all should be good . Is this just B.S. Ford is not built tough enough . Thank you for your thoughts {black}:idontknow:

The flush does not fix the ticking issue. Does the ticking go away when the engine is warmed up?

Sometimes it did but then I noticed driving in town where it echoed off buildings it is ALWAYS there . The Ford dealership said when the tensioner went out it starved for oil or lost oil pressure in the tensioner I asked Ford does that fallow through the engine I got no answer . I feel its all from the same break down and they never fixed or finished the job , just gladly took my 3 grand
