How to fix a Squeaky Noise in my 2005 RX330?

Hi, I have a 2005 Lexus RX 330 with 140 k miles and just recently had the timing belt/drive belts replaced. Lately, I notice a squealing noise for 1-2 seconds after I start the car on a cold start but the sounds goes away after that. The sound doesn't come back if I am starting the car with a warm engine (starting it after its only been off for a few mins) or when I am driving. The car otherwise drives without any problems and does not make any other abnormal noises. Not sure if the issue is with how the belts were installed (overtightened or too loose) or if something else is going out and needs to be replaced (like the starter). Thank you!

OEM Toyota belt or aftermarket belt?

My mechanic used an AISIN OEM timing belt. Not sure about the drive belt though, most likely aftermarket.

I've seen brand new aftermarket serpentine/drive belts (gates, duralast, etc.) cause squeaking issues on startup in some cars. Something to consider.

Not surprising, not all car companies have the same level of quality as Toyota/Toyota OEM products. Does it harm the car/parts of the car if I keep driving with the squeaking belt or should I look at replacing it with a Toyota OEM belt soon?

No, it's more an annoyance. It's seems to be the material and construction of the belts that some cars are picky about. I had an Acura and later a Tahoe that were finnicky that way. I saw a video where a brand new belt made such a racket in the guy's Sienna I think, all the mechanics and owner thought it was the idler pulley bearings. Turns out it was the new gates belt his car didn't like.

For your next oil change, add Lucas oil additive to help the situation.
