Hey guys was wondering if
2014 Mercedes sl 550 is worth buying as a weekend toy.
I found one on car fax sold buy dealer for 36k and only has 40miles
I driven it performs good and all the maintenance was done and new breaks were put on.
So for weekend toy to spend time with my wife is it worth buying. I was gonna trade in my miata which I only drive on weekend also.
Don't get me wrong I love the miata but it feel slow on open roads and high way. Plus thr cabin is also small since I'm 6.6
After trade in I only have to pay $3000 with all warranty and if I certified by Mercedes they add extended warranty which the total package gonna. E $5k so should I get it
There is a reason these cars depreciate a lot. If you are ok with the maintenance cost and you find a Mercedes mechanic that gives you a green light on that specific car, go ahead but don't expect to have repair/maintenance bills similar to the Miata.
I'm aware of the maintenance and cost of owning it
I'm not gonna keep it long or drive it that much maybe leasing it

If you know it is going to be a toy, comps match up, and you know what to expect, and you have the cash to burn, why not! As a daily driver, probably not. But a toy. Sounds fun. And looks fun.
I would do the math on whether leasing or buying would would be better, depending on how many miles I plan to drive.
