Car runs well and every once in a while I have to do some repairs to it. However, the ABS light came on this past weekend. The scan showed code C1234, which is Front Passenger wheel according to Autozone. We replaced that sensor, but it keeps coming back on even after resetting the code. The car buddy who helped me with all of this is at a loss. I'm trying to avoid having to take it to a mechanic as budget it tight this year. Any thoughts on what it could be?

Thanks,

Chris

Common on Fords is the toner ring is defective which is mounted on the hub.  If you had a DVOM you could check that by disconnecting the ABS sensor wires and hooking up the DVOM. When spinning the wheel you should see a square wave on the DVOM indicating its recieving a pattern.  If no pattern then that is why the ABS module is not receieving a signal. You can also test this theory by swapping the front rotors and see if the problem goes from the right to the left.  But remember this is assuming the wires from the ABS sensor are connected to the ABS module. if one side has a broken wire or bad connection the problen would remain the same even if you did swap rotors.

Need to code read ALL the buses (CAN).  If you have a decent elm 327, forscan is free from Ford and should read ALL codes, not just P codes.  Ring info above is accurate but other things too... find/replace/repair the bad part ;  )
