Hey Scotty. I have a 2009 Scion xB with 152k miles and want this to be my forever car. When I replace the transmission and engine, should I look into a rebuilt 2AZ-FE and u151e, or should I consider upgrading either the engine to a 2GR-FE, transmission to a u660e, or both?

It's a good idea to rebuild the engine and transmission since used car prices in general go up. Usually, a lot of mechanics don't rebuild the transmissions and engines correctly. So, your second option is to get the engine and transmission from Japan. It is not a good idea to upgrade the engine and transmission usually because you have to do way more steps in order to function it correctly.
