I got a 2000 jeep Cherokee sport with the the 4.0 liter inline six with the automatic transmission. It has 250,000 miles on it and has its check engine light on. I’ve scanned it before and it said cylinder number 3 is misfiring, but it doesn’t sound like it is. Also, sometimes when I crank the truck up it idles really rough and shakes the whole thing. It stops if I give it gas, and doesn’t come back when I stop. Any ideas?
Clarification: In your troubleshooting, what items have you looked at already?
