Mitsubishi Lancer Debate

Hey Scotty just bought a 2015 Lancer with 23000 miles with a 5 speed manual, and I was arguing with my dad's freind whom owns a 2012 with a cvt, that my manual would not only out last but also be cheaper in repairs especially with transmission as the fact its either belt or chain driven in the cvt which would add more complexity and hours to the labor, what's your take on this and did I buy a decent car , I'd love to hear your take on this and keep up with the amazing facts on the videos been watching for years and learned a lot of interesting takes on companies and helping make smarter choices as young mechanic especially being 18 {black} .

You are right. This is the case for every car make and model.

Manual transmissions are always longer lived than their automatic counterparts. They are a lot less complex.
