Hey Scotty,
I live in Jordan and recently got a 2022 Mitsubishi Triton 2.4L Turbo Diesel pick up truck. It's the most common vehicle in the area and makes the most sense in terms of bad roads, fuel economy, and spare parts. I've never owned a diesel vehicle before. What are the things I should keep an eye out for in terms of regular maintenance?
Follow the guidelines on when the oil needs to be replaced and check the oil levels regularly. Watch the fuel filters. Diesel vehicles are not like gasoline vehicles and can last some time when treated correctly.
Congrats on your purchase. Mitsubishi makes great diesel engines. I would follow the mainteance per user's manual and if it is automatic transmission, make sure you take care of that by changing the ATF regularly.
Great truck. on par with the Hilux and D-Max.
Follow what’s said in your manual.
replace engine oil every 5k-7.5k miles or less. Replace the transmission oil from time to time (I’d say at at least once every 30k miles, although on trucks a lot of the time you can go for a lot longer then that.)
I herd injectors on these can get clogged and can require cleaning - but if that’s a common truck where you live, local mechanics will know if it’s actually needed.
