[Solved] Moisture forming on the inside of the windshield

Hey Scotty,

I have an 06 Porsche Cayman S and I frequently have the annoying issue of moisture forming on the inside of the windshield which I need to either wipe down with a cloth or let the defroster run for a bit before I can drive the car.  I've had this issue with junker cars I owned the past but always attributed that to the cabin not having a good seal from the outside.  I can't imagine that is the problem with this car, which is basically in "like new" condition.

Let me know what you think, have a great day!

If it smells like coolant you have a leaky heater core. If not, and the problem occurs after the car has been in the rain, you might have clogged HVAC drains allowing water to accumulate in the air plenum. This can result in moisture coming up through the defroster vents and condensing on the windshield. While in like new condition bear in mind that it is 16 years old. It's also possible that door seals are not sealing as well as they did when they were new.
