I have a 2011 Rav4 v6 that I would like to sell to upgrade to a newer reliable car like I have. I have the option to purchase a 2015 lexus rx350 or a 2018 mazda Cx-5 gt(grand touring trim). I realize the lexus has the v6 like my rav4, and realize there are pros and cons to each. Which is the better investment??

No car is an "investment" unless it is something very special that will appreciate rather than depreciate over time.
You can check carcomplaints.com to get an idea of failure trends for each model, but since they are used vehicles their history is of paramount importance. Only a good mechanic inspecting them before purchase can tell you which is the better one to buy.
