Most reliable bus engines - bus conversion project

I love your videos! Thanks for being awesome! I’ve been doing research on school buses and transport buses to have something reliable to do a conversation on. I wanted to do this before it was really trendy. I think I have my husband on board finally 😉
I am thinking about a school bus that is the small or midsize and not over 35 feet like the larger ones. What are the most reliable engines and years? This probably isn’t a question you get a lot but I bet a lot of people are interested in the answer. I’ve read that some of these engines will go 600k miles. That seems nuts. I think I’ve already decided the transport type shuttle buses are out since they have lower clearance and shorter roofs, but if you want to give your two cents on that as well, I know people are interested in that information.
Thanks in advance!

Jamie

You do realize it is going to be a tremendous gas hog, and will cost a fortune to repair, right?

Regular car garages won't work on it.

Not to mention some jurisdictions may want commercial plates, commercial insurance, and a CDL.

What do you intend to use it for?
