2014 Ford Focus trouble with long crank once it starts runs fine getting a P0420 trouble code changed purge valve, cleaned mass air flow sensor, replaced air filter, also replaced high pressure fuel pump on engine, also put in a brand new battery. car ran fine before my vacation. came back a week later after it sitting and it started like it had a weak battery so I replaced it. Brought it to a Ford dealer they said replace the catalytic converter but I don't think I'm ready to do that yet too expensive any other suggestions like I said once it's starts it runs perfect. Sometimes when I turn the ignition it just clicks no crank at all but if I let it sit it cranks but doesn't start like it's not getting gas. Please help I'm losing my mind

Have you checked the output of the LOW pressure fuel pump in the gas tank? (Check the filter, too), If that wasn't delivering good pressure to your direct injection high pressure pump, that could cause this problem.

Regarding the P0420 code, you should check the O2 sensor readings as well as any leak in the exhaust.

Make sure your battery have enough juice (load test it). Also, check the battery terminal connections and make sure they are clean and tight. If these checked out, you may have a bad starter.
