[Solved] Mustang Transmission Problems

Is it known that Mustangs specifically from the years 2005-2009 have bad unreliable transmissions? I've heard that about automatics, but I'm not sure if that is the case with manuals as well. Is this true? Does the manual transmission also have faults if not the automatics? If so, which tranny should I go for when purchasing?

Thanks.

As far Ias I know, the 2005-2009 Mustang automatic transmissions were fairly good. They were a variant of the 5R44E, a Ford transmission, the guts of which came out in the 1980s. They introduced things like a 5th gear, and they were computer controlled in the early 90s.

Manual transmissions are simpler, and basically last forever if you don't grind the gears constantly.

Added to above: And having symptoms such as bad shifting in colder climates?

Well the automatic transmissions from these Mustangs are actually decent as long you change the fluid on those it can last a long time. The manuals are generally reliable.
