Scotty I got a 1989 mustang 5.0 I just started it for the first time in a longtime the car blows white smoke but it doesn’t eat coolant and even when I did think it was.the coolant was going to the overflow tank what is the problem
what does the exhaust smell like?
Nothing really just a bit like garbage from sitting for a while
When I first changed the oil I noticed that there was water in it but that’s because it’s been sitting outside in the Canadian winter for years and condensation got in there so I don’t think it’s the head gasket
Probably just steam: … cold car, chilly outside, gasoline burns and some combustion byproduct is always water. If you wait for about 5 to 10 minutes, steam will subside. Of course, if temperature outside is grossly below freezing, steam will be visible even when your car is fully warmed up!
Anyway, … let’s hope it’s just that!
