My 2001 Ford Taurus with 160,000 miles, has been having trouble shifting. It usually occurs once I'm up to speed, around 45-60mph. I've added transmission fluid and I didn't notice any slipping or hard shifts for the next day or so, but the problem has returned. When it does shift it sounds heavy and louder. What could be the possible problems with my transmission with the given symptoms.

well if adding fluid helped, then maybe you need to replace it all
