I have a 2017 ford raptor with 80,000 miles and almost every time i start up the engine when it's cold it sounds like this for a few seconds then idles fine. I thought i fixed the issue a few weeks ago but i didn't.

Could be the VCT actuator, know a few people with those 3.5s that had the same thing. Changes the VCT, problem went away. Could also be you need to change solenoids too, or cams those 17 3.5s have issues with those as well. That’s why I stay away from those motors. To much plumbing for a tiny V6. Hopefully you don’t have to drop to much money to get it fixed. Best of luck man.
