It's a 1986 pontiac firebird listed for $6,500 it's been on kbb a while I really want to go out and test drive it. Is it a good idea to buy it? It's about 200 miles away and I don't know any mechanic willing or in the area to check it out, I know a little about cars but not alot, I just need help.

I'd pass on it simply because it's got a nitrous system in it. All nitrous does is break things and I don't buy anything that's on the bottle. It looks ok, but that motor could easily be trashed even at low miles from being sprayed.
Easy pass. Likely why it has been for sale so long too.
