My car is a Ford focus 2002 model mileage 199000, automatic transmission 1.6petrol ztec engine. was advised to change my fuel pump when my car started hesitating but now the car can start but goes off after moving a shot distance... please help. I have changed three pump's now.
Any codes?
did you test or replace the fuel pump?
He said he changed 3 pumps in the post. Guess you guys aren't really taking your time to read the post correctly.
@kayto35 You can replace the pump as many times as you like. If the filter is clogged, or there's an electrical fault, bad regulator, etc then you can still get insufficient fuel pressure. That's why you should test instead of throwing parts at problems. I guess you're not really taking the time to check your attitude.
You REALLY need to change the fuel filter. I had exactly same thing happen on a 84 ford van. What happens is enough fuel flows through the filter to start the car and move a short distance but not enough to keep the engine running.
