I have a 2006 audi a4 b7 150000 miles.
I bought the vehicle at 142,000 it been a good car I've only changed the spark plugs, breaks, and oil change.
About a month ago my car started jerking, it does this when I come to a full stop then accelerate. I have no check engine light to help me determine the problem. Reading online I've seen similar issues be cause by dirty fuel injectors, dirty fuel filters, bad fuel pump, transmission and pressure and wiring issues.
My concern is I have no idea whats causing it. I am hoping someone has encountered this before and can steer me in the right direction. It is so frustrating to not know where to start tackling the problem. A co worker even suggested for me to continue utilizing the vehicle until a CEL come on and will tell me whats wrong. My issue is that when that will happen it might be too late with irreversible damage.
Please help any input is greatly appreciated but again my frustration come because I don't have any codes or CEL to tell me where to start...
Thanks again
Charlie
Sorry brother it sounds to me like the transmission is failing. But take it to a mechanic asap
Can you have transmission problems without a CEL? Or any indication that the fluid is low or requires changing?
Check Engine Lights were instituted as a government-required emissions-control requirement, and as such, don't indicate anything not related to engine emissions, such as transmissions problems, brake failure, etc. There may be other lights for these other problems.
However, high-end scan tools can see many transmission problems.
