Ive already checked FAQ for my problem but I dont see a solution
Ive got a 2009 Chevy Impala 3.5 that wont start and Im certain its the battery, but Im not sure why. I swapped the battery a few months ago so its brand new and the terminals are clean and secure. I got the battery charge and alternator checked at a shop nearby, but they said they were both fine and shouldnt have problems.
The reason I know its the battery is because Chevy Impalas have this clicking noise with the actuator if you interact with the car in any way. Even just opening the door. The click doesnt start up and the turning the key in the ignition doesnt light up the dash or even click. Dead silence. Its fine for a day or two at best with a jump but once its started, it runs fine.
Any tips would be appreciated
I just happened to be watching Scotty's "Never bring your car to walmart" video and he might've answered my question at 3:25. He'd also mentioned before that certain cars need certain charge readers so Ill get that checked out
Take the car to Autozone and have the load test the battery and alternator. If they check out ok, find battery drain(s). Scotty has a video on that which @Glen_stet shared here.
yes, but as I said in the post, Im certain its the battery
Try swapping another known good battery & check if it still does it. If it fixes it, then you know for sure, that your current battery is the culprit. Otherwise, you’re back to square one.
If you're certain it's the battery, then return it for new one.
As I said, I got the battery charge and alternator checked and they said it was fine. Thats why Im unsure of the next step
then stop telling us you're certain it's the battery! 🙄
did you even read the post
I did. It says "Ive got a 2009 Chevy Impala 3.5 that wont start and Im certain its the battery,"
Then somebody offered you a different solution, and again you told them
"yes, but as I said in the post, Im certain its the battery"
You've made up your mind. So change the battery if you're certain.
Might it be that something is draining your battery down?

I had one guy suggest it could be the actuator draining because it clicks all the time, but it stops after about a minute and only happens when I interact with the car. I got the car used from a family member and its been good for the last year. They didnt mention any battery problems tho
