Hi scotty, love your channel. My dad's 2014 1.6 diesel Honda civic has been having an issue for the last year or two and he suggested we seek your help.
Basically the tyre pressure light comes on and it won't go off. It doesn't have the tyre pressure sensors in the vavles, it's done by the abs system. That's what a Google search and an independent mechanic told us. We took it to an independent mechanic and they said I'd need to take it to Honda because they will know more and will be able to access the abs tpms system.
We took it to Honda and they just reset the light but didn't fix anything, the light came on after driving about a mile. Took it back to Honda and they rotates the tyres to see if that fixes it but it didn't. The tyre pressure is correct of course, but the light still comes on. Honda don't know how to fix it and they say it's no big deal. They are right that it's no big deal but it's annoying because the alert and the warning light makes a sound whenever you turn on the ignition.
Any idea how I can help my dad fix it?
Try another dealer to see if they can help. Those ABS systems are complicated and all controlled by the computer. If it does not give any code for the abs system, it is not an easy job to diagnose it.
