My Father Is Looking For A Brand New Full Size SUV

He's been looking at the GMC Yukon XL because it's spacious. Yes, I know GM quality is a nightmare, and I did talk to him about it and told him to look at the Toyota Sequoia. The thing is he doesn't like the look of the Sequoia. To be honest, I don't like how it looks either. I own a Camry myself and I know Toyota's quality is top knot. He doesn't want to buy a used one, btw. My question is: what is a good looking full size SUV out there that's isn't a money pit?

1. Toyota Land Cruiser

2. Toyota Sequioa

3. Lexus RX350

4. Honda Pilot

Avoid the GM junk. I used to work for them and trust me, quality is awful and you'll pay too much for the junk you get. Plus the new Yukon/Tahoe/Escalade design looks ugly as sin IMO.

Sounds like your dad is a good candidate for leasing.  He can pick a GMC Yukon XL, Chevrolet Suburban or Cadillac Escalade ESV and let the dealer make repairs under warranty.  At the end of the lease he can judge for himself if General Motors makes a decent product by counting how many times he had to visit the mechanic or look elsewhere for dependable transportation.

Honda or Toyota doesn’t have a direct competitor to the size of the Yukon XL.

The closest would be the Toyota Sequoia.

And then the next biggest would be the Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, Acura MDX, and the Toyota Land Cruiser and it’s Lexus Counterpart.

And then down the line in size would be the Lexus RX350 and the Toyota Venza.

Hello?

Excursion?

Navigator?

Ever heard of them?

Oh yeah, they're not made in Japan

My bad

sure if you like self-ejecting spark plugs

Joe, I thought ford quit putting that ad on in their vehicles a while back? I am so glad my old 98' f-150 V6 doesn't have that spark plug craziness.

@nlord well it's no surprise the Ford "Valdez" was a market failure and was discontinued in '05.
The Navigator is a bit better, and Ford finally got around to fixing the engines around 2009, but they continue to be plagued by gremlins affecting all the fancy gadgetry. My guess is they are moneypits.
