Scotty! I’m trying to get a good gas saver car and I was think of a Nissan Cube, girlfriend says it’s ugly but I heard it’s good gas saver. What are your thoughts on the car?
AVOID - these are just another SUV version of the terrible Versa.
LOTS of CVT issues, what ever fuel savings you have will not offset the cost of the CVT replacement.
(On those things, wether the CVT is going to breakdown is a question of "when" not "if")
Also apparently it does only 28mpg combined which is not great.
@itwt is correct that driving style matters a lot, but no matter how I drive I can't even get close (a factor of ~2) to a Niro HEV.
Even on a much smaller car, on non-hybrid cars that sacrifice drivability for efficiency, some Hybrids are just unbeatable.
Looking through your post history, your current Subaru does 22mpg combined - if you want to upgrade, the "Corolla L 4 speed auto" does about 30mpg or out of a manual Scion iM, although a lot claim they're getting around 33.
Unless you have $30k burning a hole in your pocket, upgrading really doesn't make much sense.
Toyota never bothered bringing their fuel efficient lineup to the US, so it's not like you can buy a reliable and efficient car.
If you only want a gas savor, there are better options.
Why drive a car that has the aerodynamics of a concrete block when there are many other, better mpg choices? I am with @yaser on this, and your girl friend.
