Well G.T. good questiins. Midsize for sure and best on gas. Eventhough, i know yheir all gas hogs. More so just every day driving. I wont be hauling anything. 4x4 or all drive for sure, thanks. {black}:sweaty:

Hi there new member.  There are a lot of good trucks out there, but not one truck that is best for everyone.  What are your specifications?

  • budget?
  • new/used?
  • compact/midsize/full size/ heavy duty?
  • intended use - towing/hauling/off road/daily driver?

Take a look in the search bar above.  Most trucks have been discussed here one time or another.

Mid size daily driver: best in class is Ridgeline, though it’s offroad chops are marginal. The best off road is the Gladiator, but do not go there. The next best off road is the Tacoma, which you will never regret.
Don’t look at ‘22 Colorado, but the ‘23 could be good. Ranger is iffy.
The wildcard is Frontier. It’s promising, but the company and dealer network are struggling (I wouldn’t get one, but wouldn’t fault you if you did)

Thanks for the knowledge...

My top two choices are Tacoma and Ridgeline. Possibly Frontier as a third.

Tacoma seems yo be toos for everyone. {black}:hi:

I'd love to own a V8 5.7L Tundra. Always thought they were voted the best of all time. Only downside was fuel economy. Same engine in the Toyota Sequoia I believe.

If they had that with a manual transmission it would have been perfect. The earlier versions with the 4.7L 2UZ-Fe engines were great as well.

-Coming from someone who never owned one and lives in the UK.

I appreciate it.

Hey Scotty,

I’m in the market for a new pickup. Thanks to your video on trucks I changed my mind from Ram to F150. My question is which engine? Ford uses that twin turbo ecoboost on almost every thing and i heard the V8s aren’t that great. Thanks and Merry Christmas.

I've heard good things about the 5 l coyote

Although I don't know what they're using nowadays they may have stopped it

why would you want to buy a new truck get one used

I would never by brand new. It would have to be a couple of years old at least.

Hey Scotty, how reliable is a Ford F150 with the 5.0 v8 engine? I was debating either trading my vehicle in for a F150 or maybe even a Ram1500. I want a bulletproof truck, any suggestions?

There is tons of info on the forum already.
Please use the search to find it: https://carkiller.com/scottykilmer/qa/read-this-first/#post-248073
