I know that older fords are decent and reliable but no one has a heavy duty truck that’s new but I need a utility truck that I can depend on any to avoid and buy?
Both are good choices. Ford and GM make good commercial trucks. If you had said F-150 or Sliverado 1500, I would've stayed away from both unless the Ford is it had a non-ecoboost V8. But yeah the F-250 and Silverado 2500 are good. If you just want a work truck I'd stick to gas but if you want to do a lot if towing get a diesel 🙂
Yes I’ve had f-150 and 2500HD and a 03 6.0 and they all run fine but I need to know if a 6.2L gas is reliable because I’ve never been in one with the engine in it as it’s most likely In new vehicles
6.2 motor is very reliable. Seen plenty with over 200k. The kinks have been worked out in those as they say and you can opt for a 6 speed trans rather than that crap 10 speed ford is using now.
You might also look into Fords new 7.3 GODZILLA motor. It’s only been out a little while but it’s push rod tech and seems easy to work on for a new motor.
Well I’ll have to ask the dealer if it is a six speed as it’s an hour and a half away
Yeah just ask them, I don’t know about the newer configurations but I know 15-17 you could still get the 6.2 paired with the 6 speed. The 7.3 gas is paired with the 10 speed that is the only downfall.
The 6.2L is reliable. The only thing you need to keep in mind is MPG. The gas motor will not get the mileage a diesel would, though with HD trucks they are ALL gas hogs.
