MILES:170k  automatic

2 codes p2187, p0170

do you know if these codes are volvo specific? 

i think it might be my breather box but before i buy the piece i want to make sure if that would help that specific code or if it is generic

the car has only had one owner before me but she didnt know much about cars , all maintenance done at a couple different mechanics shops. she had the car running with little to no antifreeze, spark plugs were old, and oil filter was grimmy, cars 15 years old
