Hey scotty hope your doing well … im 17 years old , about to graduate highschool soon and i recently bought my first car . Its a 2004 mazda 6 with a 2.3L attached to a 4F27E (4-speed) transmission. It has 169,000 miles on it . And i got it for 2k .( bought new relays for the headlights and A/C , and refrigerate, and it blows ice cold ) I recently did a minor tune up just to get everything running well with new fluids . My brother in law sold me this car because his sister and ex husband split and the car was just sitting there for a couple of months because the sister bought a new car after the split .Car runs great , starts right up with no hesitation, decent with gas. Ineed of your honesty, is this a good first car ? Is there anything i need to watch out for ? . Was this a good purchase ? How long will it last me if maintenance well ? .Hope you read this . Thanks scotty , much respect and love from over here in moreno valley California 👍🏼.
Keep up with the maintenances (engine oil, coolant,...). Inspect the transmission fluid and if it does not have a burnt smell and the color is not too dark, change it. If I'm not mistaken, it has Ford transmission.
With $2k (especially in this market), you got a good deal. Congrats.
