RAV4 > CX5 >>> XT4

I would pick Toyota RAV4 > Mazda CX-5.  Forget about the Cadillac XT4 unless you leased it and gave back before warranty expired.  Keep in mind for the CX-5, the 2.5L NA SKYACTIV-G has cylinder deactivation which for long term ownership can potentially wear out/damage the engine. The turbo-charged version does not have it, but all else being equal turbos don’t last as long as NA engines.  Also, the SKYACTIV-G engines have direct injection only and can be susceptible to carbon build up over time.  The RAV4 engine has neither of these shortcomings, and is just better engineered.

You already know we are going to choose the toyota cars over anything on the scotty kilmer forum... The toyota rav4 is the best mix of comfort, power, reliability, and resale value over any other car maker. But, not many people want to keep their cars for over 15 years and then the mazda would be ok. But, in the long run, the toyota rav4 is king. Nothing more to say. Mic drop....

I like the CX-5 and the RAV4 will last the longest. Neither are set in stone if they would last 10 years trouble free because they are new models but both should be able to. Reputation leaves it to the RAV4 to last the longest. Forget about the Cadillac.
