Hey all, I bought a new 2021 WRX (2.0 Turbo Boxer) a few months back. I do alot of highway driving for work (70 miles a day, 55 of which are highway between 70-90mph just over 3000rpm). Probably going to be doing 15-20k a year with it overall. Im wondering how often I should do oil changes? Also, im not afraid to drive it hard, the joke in my house is none of my cars have carbon build up on them, so its not getting babied, at least. I dont mind doing/ paying to have the oil change done a few times a year, but should I stick with the 6k miles suggested by Subaru? Or should I go alittle longer considering all the highway I do. Im not cheap but doing oil 3+ times a year feels like alot. Subaru also told me that I should do the first oil change at 6k, but I thought that was silly & did it well before then since it was during the break-in period. Id like to hear peoples thought here, thanks.

I would never go past 5000 miles. Oil, filter and PCV valve.
PCV valve?
Subaru #11810AA210.
Never heard of replacing the PCV valve unless its failing
It's a very inexpensive part to replace compared to waiting until it doesn't work and your car runs like crap and blows out your front main seal.
I would go with their recommended 6,000 miles: both engine oil and filter. A good rule of thumb is usually every 5,000 miles but 6,000 miles is not too far off.
Stick with 5-6000 miles. If you do it yourself and use store brand oil, the cost won’t be bad. And if you install a Fumoto drain valve, oil changes are nearly effortless (I put a short-nipple valve on my 2018 WRX and am completely happy with it; I also put one on my daughter’s Crosstrek and just ordered one for my wife’s grand Cherokee).
I'd do the recommended interval Subaru suggests. Just get quality oil and filter and maybe push it to 7k but if it were me, it'd be done at 6k miles. It won't hurt doing it sooner than later, but it will if you wait too long.
