New Car Purchase! Audi vs Volvo vs Mazda 3

Audi A3 vs Volvo XC40 base vs Mazda 3

Looking at these 3 options and I was looking for opinions on these cars. Leaning towards the Audi for its gas mileage comfort and price, but maintenance could be a scare. Is this the correct choice out the 3 or are the other mentioned options better.

Looking to buy new! Thanks

The Audi and Volvo are pretty much guaranteed to become money pits after the warranty is done. Best to lease those rather than buy if you really want one.

Thanks for the response! How do they become money pits? Thanks so much

They start falling apart and generate huge maintenance and repair bills. Search Scotty videos, he's talked a lot about those kind of cars.

The conventional wisdom for brand new vehicles is to lease German/European cars, never buy them.  Lease and return before the bumper to bumper warranty expires.

.

If you actually bought that Audi or Volvo today and tried to sell in a few years, it won’t be worth much.  So don’t buy!

My first choice for projected reliability and low cost maintenance would be the Mazda 3.

My first choice for fun would be the Audi A3. They are performance luxury oriented. Even the lower models have some pep to them. But just know that fun could potentially cost me money done the line in terms of maintenance.

My first choice if I were big gambler would be the Volvo. The Volvo really isn’t a Volvo these days. It’s a shared platform from Geely, Lynk, Volvo, and Polestar. I don’t know too much about the platform, just that it isn’t classic Volvo anymore ever since the take over.
