Charging system malfunction on my 2021 Mazda 3 with only 41k kms

Hey Scotty, I am a big fan started watching your videos once I bought my first car!
but as of late I’ve been running into a warning message in my 2021 Mazda 3 that I bought just over a year ago last October. (It had 28k kms when I bought it, now it has 41,200k kms) recently a charging system malfunction warning message will sometimes  illuminate when I go to cold start the car. (I live in Canada where it’s freezing in winter, and I do not own a garage so my car sits outside for prolonged periods of time.) I probably noticed this message for the first time around January of 2024, but never thought twice about it/ never got it looked at as I only saw it once or twice. But as of late I’ve probably ran into the warning message 5-10 times.
weirdly tho it will go away if I turn off the car then start it again. The car drives great and the warning message has never illuminated in warmer conditions.
The warning message did not pop up once until the cold winter weather came back around.
so my question is do you think it’s a dying battery? Or a faulty alternator? Or maybe the voltage input isn’t exceeding the proper amount. (Those are the common things I’ve read when researching this warning message.)

what would you recommend I do? I’m in Canada, the car only had 1 previous owner before I bought it, but I am not sure if he had ever replaced the battery while he was the owner, as since I’ve owned it I’ve never had it tested or replaced.
I’m wanting to get it inspected but I don’t wanna pay the 159.99 for a dealership inspection.
if anyone has a similar issue or any advice on what I should do please respond.
thanks!!!!

Why not load test them and find out?

Unless it's for warranty or recall work why would you take the car to a dealership? At least here in the U.S. many shops and parts stores will test your battery and charging system for free.
