Replaced friends fuel pump still no start

She said one day she used gas that had been left open in rain and shortly after would not start

She bought new fuel pump and I spent hours replacing it.

I thought maybe I got fuel line tips mixed up when reconnecting but saw a video online of someone doing this job, and saw clearly the correct order to connect to. So I'm sure that's fine.

But ya won't start. It tries too. But doesn't. It does crank and you hear engine trying to fully start but won't.....

Tried replacing relay and still nothing.

Don't hear fuel pump coming on with ear to gas cap but went under car and clearly heard it buzz on.

Un sure what issue is. I mean putting the fuel pump in. Is it really that easy to brake something. Never replaced a fuel pump on the tank before only on sedans in back seat.

I did lower tank by a few inches by unbolting one side two bolts. Idk if that caused an issue

Before I replaced it I left a jack under the car on the gas tank and put van down and looked underneath and it was severely pushing inwards on the tank. I quickly jacked it back up and removed jack. And after a few seconds it popped itself back into place. Inspected it saw no cracks or damage to gas tank. I guess the material is that flexible. Saw no leaks. So basically it put a huge dent on bottom of tank, and after I jacked back up and removed jack on tank, it popped itself out after few seconds with no visible damage anywhere after inspecting. Under half a tank of gas is in car.

I don't think that caused any damage let me know what you think tho.

Car way running fine before she put this gas in it that was left in rain, could of even been the wrong kind gas.

**What if I got the fuel line tips mixed up, you know the two tips that plug on top of fuel pump. If I did, will that brake the pump. And if I switch them real quick, and it wasn't issue in first place, will it cause damage first try?**

Tons of things can make a vehicle not start. Begin by using all the steps in my video. Fixing a car that cranks but doesn't start up Scotty. It's on YouTube
