Hi Scotty,

Should I order a new 2023 4 cylinder Tacoma, access cab. (3 month wait)

Or buy a 2020 6 cylinder Tacoma off the lot at Servco Toyota? (Pick it up tomorrow)

Or get a 4 Runner?

Thanks,

Kevin

The 4Runner is probably the most resilient and well built 4Runner you can get. It’s a decade old. So all the kinks have been worked out by now, not to mention it is one of Toyotas most resilient vehicles. Granted, it is older technology, but reliable technology.

It’s so weird how powerful these 4 cylinders are these days. At the same time it doesn’t feel powerful although it is.

One argument for the V6 is that V6’s will probably be on their way out, just like they got rid of the V8. Not by choice, but car makers have to meet new emissions laws. So get the V6 while you can.

If you are willing to go for a higher trim such as the TRD Sport you can still get a V6 access cab for the 2023 year model. Used car prices are high so see which one makes more financial sense; if a TRD Sport 2023 is going to be close to the used one I would suggest buying new.

The 4Runner well it's a different type of vehicle; it's a great car but it depends on if you want a truck or suv.

Depends on your needs and preferences, any of those can be a good one.
