Twin turbo V6, that’s a LOT of plumbing for a tiny motor like that. Ford attempted and failed for long term reliability and I’ll be honest I don’t see Toyota being any better. Overly complicated, more maintenance at shorter intervals, not to mention more expensive maintenance. I’d stay away if you want a vehicle to take you into the 200k mi plus mark. Sure there’s Ecoboost out there w/ 200k mi but look at how much the owners have to spend to get it there. When Turbo goes out you better have a good amount put away for replacement. And just like Ford s Ecoboost , you’ll pop the hood on one of those new Tundras and wonder where to even start. Unless you are a master mechanic and have the skill and equipment to deal with the maintenance.

I wouldn’t buy one because they’ll still be relatively new and it’s hard to project long term reliability. If it’s a few years old and reliability is proven to be good, then I’d say go right ahead.

Turbos are just a way to get more power out of an engine that never had it to begin with and won't last very long either.  I would never buy a vehicle with a turbo.  Super charger, yes, turbo, no.
