I saw in one of your videos that if a recall is called for your vehicle, it lasts the life of the vehicle. I have a 2005 Jeep Liberty with 148k miles. I just found out there was a recall for the lower control arm. It say's on the page I looked at that the dealer will fix this free of parts and labor. I've heard you say numerous times, "don't trust anybody". Will they actually fix this for free if it has never been fixed? I noticed other recalls my vehicle was a part of that were "checked off".
If it’s an outstanding recall, the dealer is obligated to fix it at no cost to you.
if a defect poses a danger to life then yeah of course they have to fix it!
Minor stuff ... no. There's usually a time limit.
It's the rear suspension lower control arm
Like I said, if it's a safety recall, then they are required by US law to fix it. There are serious consequences if they don't. Read the fine print in the NHTSA recall document for details. Call Jeep corporate office if you don't trust your dealership.
