Stuck clutch?

Topic starter

1980 toyota corolla tercel sr5 5speed hatchback mileage unknown. Scotty the car is not going into gear while idling. its front wheel drive its been sitting for 15 years. if we start the car in gear it moves. the pedal is not stuck. We think the clutch is stuck (not hydraulic). If it is stuck what are your ways of unsticking it. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

The clutch system on your Tercel IS definitely hydraulically operated.

There's no resevoir

Yep, your clutch is definitely stuck That's probably rusted on. But there really is no way other than pulling the transmission and replacing it. Although if you're crazy enough to try, if you can get it running and get it up to any speed you could try jerking a pedal up and down and trying to pull the gear shift from one gear to the next

Thanks for the advice scotty. Have a day sir.
