Should I buy this car

My uncle offered me his other car for $500 it’s a 2000 Ford Focus SE with auto trans. It has a few issues like I think the power steering pump is starting to go out, and the battery light comes on quite often but it never dies on him. It’s  usually only driven on the weekend. It has a salvage title due to hail it just dented the hood, roof, and trunk and put a hole in the cover of one of the mirrors. I don’t know what engine it has (exact size). Most other cars around here are at least $2000 and are in worse condition. It has around 110,000ish miles on it. Should I buy his car?

As long as the "few issues" are minor, and you trust your uncle, what the heck. $500 is a steal.

Yes the issues are minor all things I listed are the only “known” issues and yes I trust him we are pretty close or it would not be $500

At that price, you could buy it and sell it the next day at twice the price.

Even with the issues it has?

even to a recycler, the car is worth $300 in scrap metal. If a car runs, it's worth $2,000 in this market.
