Any thoughts or insight on which is better and more reliable? I heard nissan nvs are the most reliable cargo van but don't extend as much as the ford transit can. Ford transits i hear are great but some of the ones made 5 years ago have foof leaking, differential and ecobost problems.

I would go with Ford, but do not buy the Ecoboost engine is possible.

I've gotta go with the Transit on this one. They have an absolute TON of space for cargo. Personally I do not like the Nissans at all, but that's just me.
